KMSXPR 1.02 -*- KMS File Transfer Server ©1993 Thomas Schwarz
=============================================================
Documentation
=============
Description:
------------
KMSXPR is responsible for all Xpr-Library filetransfers done by KMS, my
famous "Karfunkel Mailbox System". It is designed especially for use with
KMS and is not intended to be used by anything or anybody else. (But surely
I'm not able to stop you from abusing it anyway :-)
Input and output is completely handled through the standard io-channels, so
these have to be properly redirected for working on a serial line. But this
is very well handled by KMS, so you don't have to bother about it. (You
really don't have to bother about anything referring to KMSXPR if you don't
misuse it as already mentioned before :-) (So why do you read this
documentation at all? :-)

This program is heavily based on "XPR" from the AXsh-Package by the well
known genius Pasi 'Albert' Ojala (Internet: albert@cs.tut.fi OR
albert@cc.tut.fi). If you don't already know about AXsh, please read this
excerpt from the original AXsh documentation (you'll like it! :-)
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
AXsh is a shell based local communication software, which allows remote
users to connect to your machine. AXsh can also be run under UUCP, but you
need to do some changes to some of the configuration files. AXsh consists
of three main parts: the AXsh shell software, AX-sysghost, which holds
information about users and AX-server, which takes incoming calls, starts
AXsh etc. AXsh supports multiple users, multiple lines and different user
levels. You can define allowed commands and directories for each user
level. Command arguments can also be restricted to home directory or to
allowed directories.
AXsh is a SHAREWARE product and the REGISTRATION fee is about US$ 30, 150
FIM. We'll accept any other currency too, because that is more convinient
for everybody, but US$ and FIM are preferred. The cheapest way to send the
money is in cash in a letter. If you don't plan to register, but have an
Internet mail address, you should still send some mail so I can keep you
upto date about updates to the demo distribution. We are developing the
system constantly and all comments and bug reports are welcomed. (See the
addresses in the end of this document.)

his glasses beginning to fog.

Perhaps you wonder why this documentation is written in English while KMS
in general is a German system? Well, I'm practising my English :-)
